Our Recommendations
The classic desktop application we recommend for most people
Mozilla Thunderbird
Mozilla Thunderbird is the desktop email application that we recommend for most people. It is free, customizable, and works on all mainstream desktop operating systems, including the Mac, Windows, and Linux. It is made by the same people who make the Firefox web browser, the Mozilla Foundation. Thunderbird works great out of the box.
Thunderbird will also grow with your needs. It has a robust ecosystem of extensions that can add a variety of functionality to the default feature set. And, Thunderbird also supports end-to-end encryption out of the box for when you want to send sensitive information over email.
To set-up Thunderbird, just input your entire @fidei.email address and your password and Thunderbird will automatically configure everything for you, walking you through some basic options as you go.
A more modern email experience
Spark Mail
Spark Mail is a fantastic email application made for iOS, macOS, and Android and it works great with Fidei. While Thunderbird offers a more traditional approach to email, Spark's interface feels more modern.
We love Spark for its clean interface, multi-account support, and useful built-in features like reminders and quick-replies.
Spark is additionally working on a Windows version of their email application, which we are told is coming soon.
If you use Apple devices

An open-source Android mail app
K-9 Mail
As mentioned above, Spark Mail works great on Android and is the email application that we recommend for most people. However, K-9 Mail is open-source and has a lot to offer, including support for multiple accounts and the ability to use end-to-end encryption with GPG.
We have recorded a short video guide to setting up K-9 mail on your Android phone.
